Axel Sjöqvist is a geologist and geochemist with a PhD from the University of Gothenburg, specialising in the formation processes of rare earth elements (REE). He has more than ten years of experience in academia, industry and consultancy, working within geochemical analysis, exploration and project development. Among other things, Axel has conducted exploration work around the Västervik region for a client. Axel runs the consultancy company Axray Scientific AB, is an affiliated researcher at the University of Gothenburg and a board member of the Geological Society of Sweden. He was awarded the Jan Bergström Prize in 2022 for his scientific achievements and his ability to communicate geosciences in socially relevant contexts.
